サウスダコタ州スーフォールズ出身、現在オハイオ州コロンバズ在住。2009年、オハイオ州立大学美術学修士号を取得大学では、ペインティング、美術史、セラミック（陶磁器）、彫刻など、様々な材料を試行的に組み合わせる。アメリカ各地で彼女の作品は紹介され、コロンバス・カレッジにてアート/デザイン、エバーグリーン・ステイト・カレッジ、オレゴン・カレッジにてアート/クラフトを教え、オハイオ州立大学にて教鞭をとる。ミネソタ州、オレゴン州では美術館へ勤務。最近では、アーティスト、アン・ハミルトンのスタジオ・マネージャーも勤める。日本滞在中は、東京と京都で開催される「アメリカ・日本リーダーシップ会議」に、20名のアメリカ人代表の一人として参加する予定。

Nicole Gibbs was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and currently lives in Columbus, Ohio. She received her MFA from The Ohio State University in 2009. With degrees in painting, art history, ceramics, and sculpture, Gibbs’ experimental practice combines many materials. Her work has been shown throughout the United States. She has taught at Columbus College of Art and Design, The Evergreen State College, Oregon College of Art and Craft, and The Ohio State University, and worked at major museums in Minnesota and Oregon. She currently serves as studio manager for artist Ann Hamilton. While in Japan, she will represent the United States as one of 20 American delegates at the US-Japan Leadership Conference in Kyoto and Tokyo.
